### Summary
Supervisory MSAs at this level plan and direct programs at medical centers and/or satellite outpatient clinics and have full supervisory responsibility for supervising at least one subordinate MSA or Program Support Assistant. Assignments at this level include, but are not limited to:

### Responsibilities
* Works independently making decisions based on guidelines, precedents and regulations and performs duties in such a manner that only minimal supervision is required.
* Directing, supervising and training subordinates to assure compliance with all requirements, quality control program management reporting and special projects.
* Ensuring staff compliance with national and local policies and procedures.
* Resolving differences between administrative personnel and clinical staff in a professional, consistent manner.
* Evaluating new products, equipment, and systems in order to make recommendations for improved operations
* Analyzing and resolving problems in the staffing, effectiveness, and efficiency of administrative support and staff activities.
* Identifying educational or training needs.
* Participating in interviews and selections; evaluating performance, and taking disciplinary action when necessary.
* Extracting and analyzing data to provide reports in support of performance measures, staffing justifications, and other needs to senior management as necessary.
* Responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of information obtained to carry out required duties.
* Communicates with physicians, case managers, and other allied health professional staff using sound interpersonal skills and is constantly aware of the sensitive information.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 700-3:30 pm; 730-4:00 pm; 830-5:00 pm or 900-5:30 pm
(Note: Work schedules are determined and approved by the supervisor. The incumbent may be required to work various shifts on a permanent or temporary basis based on patient care needs.)

(1) Six months experience of clerical, office or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position; or (2) One year above high school; or (3) Equivalent combination of experience and education are qualifying for entry level for which both education and experience are acceptable. **GRADE REQUIREMENTS:**In addition to the basic requirements above, all applicants must also meet one of the following grade requirements for a specific grade level.
**GS-08 Specialized Experience:** You must have 1 year of specialized experience to the GS-7 that equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Examples of specialized experience for this position include, but are not limited to: conducting extensive searches for required information such as verification for accuracy of items received, prices billed, and adherence to the individual orders terms and conditions; reconstructing records for complex supply transactions and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, or parts; investigating and reconciling inventory discrepancies; and executing and ensuring corrective actions.
**Time-in-Grade Restriction:** Applicants who are current or former Federal employees and have held a GS grade at any time in the past 52 weeks must meet time-in-grade requirements. For this position you must have served 52 weeks at either the GS-7 grade level (to qualify for GS-8). You must show that you meet this TIG restriction in your resume and SF-50s, or you will not be considered for this position and will receive the "ITIG" rating.

2. Ability to manage clinic/program support requirements ensure compliance with established policies and regulations
3. Ability to collaborate, communicate, and demonstrate customer service and interpersonal skills with all healthcare professionals to ensure quality/continuity of care and ensure compliance with established policies and regulations
4. Ability to provide briefings, orientations, staff development, and training.
5. Ability to manage fiscal matters, forecast resource and equipment needs, and identify budget needs.
