Description
Senior/SME in EW Mission Data development Electronics engineer and/or systems engineer to support mission data (MD) rapid reprogramming, operational testing, Electronic Warfare Systems (EWS), integrated, and non-integrated complex systems such as self-protection
jammers, radar warning receivers, RF/IR countermeasure dispensers, expendable decoys, special warning, interface computers, missile and targeting systems.


Essential Job Functions:


Performs work to plan, analyze, and evaluate engineering and technical efforts used to test and evaluate total weapons systems/subsystem operational reliability.


Functions as the engineering expert in mission data (MD) design, development, testing, evaluation, and engineering on the applicable EW system.


Performs engineering activities in support of systems which intercept, identify, or actively utilize electromagnetic energy to determine, exploit, counter, reduce, or prevent hostile use of the electromagnetic spectrum.


Conducts engineering design of mission data for the latest, state-of-the-art EW threat warning receivers, RF jarnmers, and expendable systems intended for integration into various types of air platforms.


Applies a number of diverse engineering practices, techniques, and processes to identify and resolve difficult issues, as well as ensuring resolutions are consistent with program objectives, existing policies, and procedures.


Assures projects assigned meet the required specifications, establishes necessary requirements, and prescribes corrective action to resolve anomalies.


Develops EW MD in both Wartime and Peacetime to support Electronic Warfare Integrated Reprogramming (EWIR) in response to blue, gray, hostile air defense, ground and airborne radars, and missile threat systems.


Analyzes various complex weapon systems to include anti-aircraft artillery, surface to air missiles and airborne intercept weapon systems.


In order to accomplish this duty, the incumbent must effectively perform engineering duties for all phases of MD development engineering for the applicable EW system.





Requirements
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.


Bachelor's or Master's degree in an Engineering, Science, or applicable Technical discipline.


Minimum of 15 years of experience.


Active Top Secret Security Clearance.


Performs engineer activities in support of EW System operational test & evaluation, Force Development Evaluation, Foreign Material Exploitations (FME) and special project testing.


Provides expert engineering support during major test and evaluation programs involving threat analysis/assessment, combat effectiveness, communications, airborne electronic warfare, computer software, data analysis, and instrumentation systems, and other similar
types of major electronics programs.


Responsible for the test planning, analysis and reporting on the effectiveness of EW against US inventoried systems to ensure that higher headquarters has the information necessary to make informed decisions about EW consequences.


Reviews data during the course of the testing, analyzes data, and determines whether testing should continue as planned or be redesigned, altered, suspended, or cancelled. Ensures that the resolution of technical problems is consistent with program objectives,
costs, schedules, and performance criteria.


Performs system engineering in support of advanced systems engineering and hardware/software applications/design for EW equipment or devices.


Provides engineering expertise on systems such as airborne and ground electronic warfare systems, information warfare systems, integrated EW computer systems, instrumentation systems, computer hardware, computer software and airborne EW systems.


Emphasis is placed on Radar Warning Receivers, expendables and Radio Frequency Jammers involved in engineering activities related to computer software for airborne system


Performs engineering project management functions to conduct research and development demonstrations for complex Electromagnetic EW systems.


Conducts activities in areas such as threat warning, ESM, SEAD, expendables, RF jammers, IR/EO jammers, Signature Control, Airborne Electronic Warfare Computer software, Ground Electronic Warfare Computer Software, airborne avionics, air defense systems, microelectronics,
and Electro-optics technologies.


Conducts feasibility and cost studies and prepares estimates, plans, and requirements for the design, installation, and test and evaluation of advanced electronic warfare equipment.


Applies knowledge of the physical sciences and electronic phenomena, and the principles, techniques, and practices of electronics to phenomena related to electricity and magnetism.


Extensive EW experience required; preferable on the F-35.
